Reply of the Broadcasting Council on the request for submission of a footage from the show “Moment of Truth”
The Broadcasting Council on its 20 th session that was held on October 9, 2009, reviewed the communication analysis of the episodes of the reality TV show "Moment of Truth" which was broadcasted on the 1st and the 8th of October 2009.
In shape and content, this television format is an example of the degradation of basic human self aware, the ethics and elementary social logic of the media communication in general. Also, the analysis showed that the aforementioned episodes are problematic from several criminal aspects, such as public recognition of the participants of usury and sexual relations with female juveniles.
The Council told A1 TV that it is obliged to bring their media behavior with the provisions contained in Articles 68 and 70 of the Law on Broadcasting. Besides the concept, the promotional announcements for the show "Moment of truth" should be harmonized according to the legal provisions. Otherwise, the Council will take measures in accordance to the Law on Broadcasting.
